A record-breaking $25,220 was raised at this event for The Humane Society of the United States and the Pink Ink Fund! Good work everyone involved!
The Great American Beard and Moustache Championship, hosted by the RVA League (#2018GABMC) was held in Richmond, Virginia on September 29th. The GABMC is considered "the prestige" beard competition in the United States as titles that are won are deemed "National titles".
The MEAN TEAM was there in full force and we walked away with two titles! We are mighty MEAN proud to announce Patrick Quinn is the National 1st place Sideburns/Mutton Chops Champion and Lance Wooton placed 2nd in Full Beard Natural over 18" category.
With all due mention, the rest of the MEAN TEAM did mighty fine in their placings.
Jimmy "The Big Beard" Brittain - Full Beard Natural, 12-18" - PLACED 4th
Joe Loving - Full Beard Natural, 12-18" - PLACED tied 5th
Chad Taylor - Full Beard Natural, 12-18" - PLACE tied 9th
Zac Thomas - Full Beard Natural, Under 12" - PLACED tied 13th
Jamie Murphy - Full Beard Natural, 18" and over - PLACED tied 4th
Why do we do this? Not only is it fun and competitive, but most importantly it's to support community and help raise money for charity. All proceeds from the #2018GABMC goes to The Humane Society of the United States for their animal protective services and the Pink Ink Fund for post-mastectomy tattooing.
Thank you to all our MEAN BEARD supporters and bearded brothers in the community. Thank you to the North American Competitive Beard and Moustache Alliance for all your hard work and dedication. Thank you to the RVA League who hosted this epic event. We look forward to the next Great American Beard and Moustache Championship which will be taking place in the glorious state of Utah in 2020. The MEAN TEAM shall see you there! Until then, stay MEAN!
