My beard is my courage. I suffered a complete medical crash in 2009 that changed my life instantly. Over the years of facing the judgements and belittling, from growing my natural hair on my face: I discovered zen level of compassion and forgiveness for all. No one knew my hair means something very spiritual to me and has truly been leaned on for support to get me through such procedures that do not permit pain relief sedation.

6 years ago, just before Movember on October 28th, I decided to let my beard grow. I also decided to stop using drugs. It's a very important date for me because I succeeded. A few weeks later, over the holidays, I challenged my Godfather: "My beard will be longer than yours next Christmas" and I succeeded too! After that, I kept my beard for hockey series and as the time went by, a love story has grown up between the two of us. Now that I have THE MEANest BEARD, it gave me the courage to become a bartender, the first male in the history of my bar.

I am the owner of Beard Laws. By day I work for an amazing heating and plumbing supply company and by night I am a father and brand owner. I do a podcast that I enjoy a TON. Other stuff too but let's be honest you stopped reading this already.
MEAN BEARD Motto:
Anyone can have a beard, I have a beard that can change the world.

Beard Laws loves to raise money for a great cause. I was able to raise enough money to replace the TV's at the local Cancer Center in my hometown. I have had family members personally sit at this facility for several hours and it's tough to pass the time on these older TV's. Who wants to watch The Price Is Right on a small TV that shuts off every so many minutes and you can't tell if Drew Carey is fat or not?

I wear a goatee most of the year and decided in September to go full. With my salt and pepper, now going white wanted to see if I can eventually go for the Santa Claus for my new grandson.

Mark Strong (because I have a weakness for white or salt and pepper beards). Overall, Matt McLear.. doing good things and sporting a magnificent beard.
