MEAN BEARD puts away two 1st place belts at WhiskerMania 3

WhiskerMania is an annual charity beard competition held by the Derby City Whisker Club in Louisville, Kentucky.  Their 3rd annual competition was held on January 27th in support of Active Heroes, a US based charity that raises money to help military heroes and their families by providing national activities, peer support and resources. 

MEAN BEARD sent 4 of our sponsored Ambassadors from the MEAN Team to participate in this fundraising event and hit the stage to compete - Chad Taylor, Jeremy Sharp, "Taxi" Phil Jones and Lance Wooton.

We are proud to announce the event raised $10,000 for Active Heroes, and two of our team nailed down 1st place belt finishes! 

The legend "Taxi" Phil Jones from Cincinnati, Ohio took home the belt for 1st Place Full Beard 5 inches under with Styled Moustache.  Taxi Phil is one of the founding fathers of the Cincinnati Beard Barons and President of the club.  He has won well over 50 competitions and is currently ranked 3rd in the world for styled moustache.

Lance Wooton from Lily, Kentucky won 1st Place Full Beard 12 inches plus.  He currently holds the Nation's title to 2nd place Natural Full Beard in the USA, and is ranked 4th in the World for Natural Full Beard 45.1-60+ cm.

We also would like to give a big shout out and congrats to Jeremy Sharp's wife, the lovely & creative Margo Sharp for taking home 3rd place in the Fake Beard category.
